September is Stock the Box month for ShelterBox (SB), a global organization who believes in shelter as a human right – that shelter from the chaos of disaster and conflict is vital.
One of the many things that we take for granted, is that our home will always be there, no matter what. Until.... disaster strikes.
Rotary believes in 'Service above Self' and 'Serve to Change Lives'. We work together with SB to provide the tools that enable people to rebuild homes and transform their lives. When disaster strikes, families lose their homes, possessions and livelihoods.
Your donation will help ShelterBox be ready with lifesaving shelter and supplies after disaster strikes and help families get back up on their feet, regain confidence and move forward.
Each ShelterBox provides a family with emergency shelter and other vital equipment to help rebuild, recover, and restore normalcy after the trauma of losing everything to disaster.
The contents of our ShelterBox differs depending on the disaster and the climate, but items such as the family tent, solar lights, water storage and purification equipment, thermal blankets, a children's activity packet and cooking utensils help start the process of creating a home.
Join us in raising funds through State College Rotary and Pampered Chef to stock not ONE, but TWO ShelterBoxes for disaster relief!
