Watch for future "working" sessions!
Every Friday, a Rotarian volunteers two hours to Meals on Wheels to distribute meals to the needy.
We've set up a SignUp Genius page to facilitate the process of claiming spots for Meals on Wheels delivery.
The State College Rotary Club received a District Community Matching Grant and will be supporting The Jared Box Project. Jared Boxes were started in 2001 by the children of Our Lady of Victory School to honor their classmate and friend, Jared. He was a brave little boy who battled cancer with courage and faith that continues to inspire us all.
As part of the grant, we provided 400 boxes to other organizations for them to fill with items and cards. Now as Rotarians we are taking over and putting together 110 boxes – providing the boxes, and items to fill them. Each box contains small gifts, toys, games, crayons, coloring books and fun activities selected for a specific age and gender. These boxes are given out by hospital staff when a children comes in. Children and their parents are so thankful for these boxes that showcase the importance of play and are filled with well wishes, hope and love.
Twice a year, Rotarians clean up a section of Route 26 between Whitehall Road and Pine Grove Mills.
We obtain grants for local projects. Rotary District 7360 matches 100% of what the club contributes. Some of the past District community grants are listed below.
Our club has awarded these grants for many years to local organizations.
