On December 20, 2022 - Members of the Rotary Club put together Wellness Bags for the Jana Marie Foundation.   These will help "ground" young people to be mindful of their surroundings and keep them in a happy place mentality.

January 10, 2023 - Members gathered for another evening of fun, creating Wellness Bags for Jana Marie Foundation.    We are halfway to our goal of 1000 bags!

Watch for future "working" sessions!

jared boxes

The State College Rotary Club received a District Community Matching Grant and will be supporting The Jared Box Project.   Jared Boxes were started in 2001 by the children of Our Lady of Victory School to honor their classmate and friend, Jared.  He was a brave little boy who battled cancer with courage and faith that continues to inspire us all.

As part of the grant, we provided 400 boxes to other organizations for them to fill with items and cards.  Now as Rotarians we are taking over and putting together 110 boxes – providing the boxes, and items to fill them.   Each box contains small gifts, toys, games, crayons, coloring books and fun activities selected for a specific age and gender.  These boxes are given out by hospital staff when a children comes in.  Children and their parents are so thankful for these boxes that showcase the importance of play and are filled with well wishes, hope and love.
